Some of my favorite highlights are:
1. Barbara Thompson, Second Counselor of Relief Society, spoke about personal revelation. She explained how in times of need, our testimonies keep us going. We need to strive to feed those testimonies and build on our faith as much as we can so that when those tough times come, we will have strength.
2. The fact that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is growing so much that temples are constantly being announced.
3. Neil L. Andersen, member of the Quorum of the Twelve, gave a talk dear to me. It is my dream to one day have children. He explained that while it is a commandment of God to multiply and bear children, it is an important decision between husband, wife, and Heavenly Father to decide when to bear those children. It is a nice reminder when things in the world push me to either side of that decision, I am in control. It is no one's decision but mine. I will make that decision with Nick and the Lord. It will be ours and it will happen when it is supposed to.
4. Ian S. Arden, member of the Seventy, explained the most important things. Godly things are what matters most. Family. Church. Service and so on. We should all dedicate our time and efforts seeking out these things which are not temporal. Always strive to have that eternal perspective and look at what you are doing with your time.
5. In times of doubt, "it's better to look up." - Thomas S. Monson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The story told by Carl B. Cook, member of the Seventy, really hit home. When you're down and just plain feel like nothing good is happening in your life, don't stare at your feet hoping that things get better! They won't! Learn to look up toward Heavenly Father and ask him for help. If you do this, life will always, always get better.
I can't wait until tomorrow's Conference! I'm going to snuggle with my husband and soak in as much as humanly possible! I will be watching here. Care to join me?
