Errand of Angels

Do you know what visiting teaching is? If not, click HERE!!!! And here is another good article.

Until recently I haven't really understood how to be a visiting teacher. Granted, I'm still learning but I really love the women I have visited. They are so sweet and such amazing women. At first I thought I wasn't going to have many friends in our ward because me and Nick are so young compared to everyone else. I've learned that age doesn't matter when it comes to friends. We all live them same life with struggles, and we all are striving to be better than we were yesterday.

My companion has taught me a lot over the last three months. She is patient. She has a huge heart. She is such a great example of how to live righteously. I love her so much and I'm so grateful for her.

I know that as we continue to help and pray for the women we visit, their lives will be blessed just as ours are. I can see how the gospel uplifts these women and gives them courage to be amazing mothers and wives.

This month's message is amazing. It's all about faith and obedience to covenants made with Heavenly Father and being an example to your children so they might grow in righteousness. It is amazing how we are able to take stories from the past and apply them to our lives today.

My companion pointed out to me today that even though I don't have children of my own, I can be an example to the children I teach in Primary. When I read the message alone, I was thinking of ways I can improve so that when my children are born, I can be a righteous mother that my children look to for an example of Christ-like living. It wasn't until she pointed out the fact that I am an example that I realized I should focus more on those children. Some of them don't have parents that sit and read the scriptures with them every night. They might not have a figure in their life that prays with them. The only outlet for the gospel they have is on Sunday.

I feel so blessed to be able to be that example for them. I love those kids so much and I want to see them grow up to be amazing sons and daughters of God.

So, as you sit here and ponder your examples and the way you were brought up, remember that you also are the example for some.

I encourage everyone to read this month's message. It is an inspired one.

Who looks up to you?
