Good Things

A list. A list of what? Good things, of course! I can't think of anything better to list.

1. My husband is perfect. Now, I am not saying he is the most perfect human or anything. We all know that that spot has already been filled by our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am saying that he is perfect for me. In our marriage, we complete each other and fill in the gaps. Lately, I have really tried to focus on what he brings to the table and I can not be more grateful. He is a wonderful blessing. He makes me want to be the perfect companion.

2. Eternal perspective. We aren't here on this planet forever, are we? Nope. Let's make the most of it! Big things don't seem so big when you think about why we are actually here and if it will matter in the eternities. We also can't forget to recognize Heavenly Father's hand in this life. He painted a beautiful canvas for us full of sunsets and mountain tops and breathtaking oceans. Cherish it with your eternal perspective! Send your praises Heaven-bound.

3. Education. I used to hate studying. Let's be honest. I still do. But those A's are so so SO worth the effort. Knowing that you have grasped a concept in its entirety is a marvelous thing. Granted, I'm taking microeconomics and it's not that fun. Still. Knowing that I understand what I have been taught is awesome.

4. Do you ever have those days where you want to do absolutely nothing but still want to be stimulated in some way, shape, or form? I am grateful for Netflix for providing me with Doctor Who, 24, and Downton Abbey so I can be stimulated and lazy. Now, they just need to get on with adding the new episodes. I need them, Netflix. It's becoming a situation.

5. I have never been a neat person. I high school and my beginning years as an adult (still living in my parents house, mind you) I was never neat. Walk into my bedroom and it was an explosion of clothes, books, sheet music, stuffed animals, clothes, school work, clothes, and did I mention clothes? I am positive this drove my mother insane. I always complained about chores and checking things off of our lists like "Wipe all of the light switches." I mean, c'mon. Light switches!? They never get dirty. I thought that was stupid. Sorry, Mom. But now as an "older and wiser" house wife, I find myself checking the little things like the light switches for dirt. So, thanks, Mom, for grooming me into a somewhat neater person. I still don't clean as often as you do but my house is always tidy. ish....

6. Does anyone else ever have those days of self awareness? I mean, those days you learn and you are full aware that you're learning things about yourself that are absolutely ridiculous. I like those days. Being married gives you a lot of those days.

7. Cats.

8. Paint.

9. Lists.

10. Books. My husband is creating the most amazing book series in the entire world. I can't wait to share it with everyone I know or come in to contact with. I mean, this is THE literal best. I'm not just saying that because it comes from my husband. I'm saying that because the storyline literally broke my heart, made me cry, put me back together, made me cry again, created a party in my heart, and every other emotion you could possible think of. He hasn't even written anything down yet. It's all just storytelling at this point. He is going to be the next J.K. Rowling. Or possible the next J.R.R. Tolkein. He'd appreciate that comparison more, I'm sure.

11. I wish I could create a book. I found I'm more of a visual person than I am a word person. I am better at creating wordless beauty and my husband is better at creating beauty with words. And it all comes full circle. Back to number 1.
